万众期待的“第6届世界龙舟锦标赛”及“第8届亚洲龙舟锦标赛”周四上午开始一连四天在槟城直落巴巷水坝展开竞渡！

这2项筹备多时的国际龙舟赛吸引了24个国家的4000名龙舟好手共襄盛举，各国龙舟队在水面上努力划船向前冲，掀起一波接一波的欢腾水花。岸上奇装异服的各国啦啦队争鸣打气，载歌载舞，摇晃他们的国旗，使到平时水静河飞的水坝变得热烘烘。

参赛队伍创下有史以来最多，参加世界锦标赛的队伍有480支队，亚洲赛有100多支队伍，估计来自国内外的参赛者达至4000名。

The countries represented in this year’s championships are Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Cambodia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Iran, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Taiwan, Ukraine and the United States of America
